Originating in Asia, particularly in regions such as China and India, rice cultivation dates back thousands of years. It spread across continents through trade routes, eventually becoming a staple food for billions of people globally.
In Africa, rice plays a vital role in food security and sustenance, with consumption patterns varying across regions. Its versatility and nutritional value make it a popular choice,and it is a cornerstone of many traditional dishes. With the continent’s growing population and changing dietary habits, the demand for rice continues to rise.
Our hub in Africa is in the port of Beira, Mozambique. Our move into the dynamically growing markets serviced by Beira was a strategic decision reflecting our belief and commitment in the transformative power of trade to uplift communities and foster sustainable growth. The region loves its non-basmati rice and our team works hard to bring best-in-class cargo from India, Pakistan, Vietnam and Thailand to the market.

North America is emerging as a large consumer of rice because of the grain’s inherent strength – it is the most convenient grain to cook at home! Our hub for rice distribution in North America is in Toronto, Ontario. With the Canadian rice market growing at 15% annually, we are situating ourselves to lead in this direction.
Fast emerging as the top choice of modern households constrained for time, pasta is winning hearts for its flexible recipes. We originate cargo from the top producers in Turkiye and in Egypt. Our brands Anabela and Valentina are fast growing spaghetti brands in the East African market. We see it as increasingly becoming a staple food for urban consumers in the East African market.
Our youngest business. We provide high protein animal feed and energy supplements for animals, cattle, poultry, and fish. Our products include superior quality DDGS ingredients to animal and pet food manufacturers. Our specialty is Rice DDGS that has a niche application in fish (white meat) production.
